Waste Less Recycle More Project Review: 
New FOGO food waste recycling and processing by ANL
ANL currently manages in the order of 500,000t of recycled organics annually and their successful Waste Less Recycle More (WLRM) grant submission targeted an additional 50,000t of FOGO with a $9.7 million investment into food waste recycling and processing by ANL. 
ANL's Sales and Marketing Manager, Rob Niccol explains that they ventured into the FOGO stream "because it's associated with their core product and should bring a significant amount of greenwaste that is associated with the food waste.

Your Contribution can help your industry! 
If you are an organics recycling processor then the NSW EPA organics department are looking for your help to better understand your industry needs and wants!
The NSW EPA is encouraging the organics industry in NSW to contribute to new research currently underway to better understand the economics of organics recycling in NSW.
The researchers are currently approaching industry members for input. If you would like more information on the project or to find out more, please contact Rod Carr at Marsden Jacob Associates on 0418 765 393.


AORA has been appointed to the National Food Waste Strategy Advisory Group (NFWS). 
The Federal Government has established this body to identify policies and strategies to reduce food waste by 50% by 2030. The strategy will follow the waste hierarchy model but clearly sees recycling for beneficial reuse as a critical element in achieving the goal. 
AORA National Director Martin Tower explains: 
  • What will AORA be doing as part of the NFWS advisory group?

National Food Waste summit November 2017.
The Turnbull Government will discuss its commitment to develop a National Food Waste Strategy to reduce Australia's food waste by 50 per cent by 2030 with industry and community leaders in Melbourne tomorrow.
A roundtable, bringing together government, industry, academia and the not-for-profit sector will be co-hosted by the Pratt Foundation. It will be an important opportunity to map a way forward ahead of a National Food Waste summit to be held in November 2017.
