MEMBERSHIPS FOR ORGANISATIONS

ASSOCIATE
Best for: consultants, laboratories, universities operating in one state. Less than $16 a week for national advocacy, industry intelligence, and a seat at the table.
NATIONAL ASSOCIATE
Best for: national consultants, equipment suppliers, packaging manufacturers operating across two or more states.One membership. National reach. Amplified influence.
LOCAL GOVERNMENT & GOVERNMENT
Best for: local governments, regional groupings, and state or federal departments. Join the network driving policy outcomes and sustainable procurement across Australia.
PROCESSOR
Best for: operators of a single organics recycling facility. Your membership funds the advocacy and research that protects your licence to operate.
NATIONAL PROCESSOR
Best for: operators of facilities across two or more states.National coverage. National voice. One membership.
An organics processor, for the purposes of interpreting the AORA Constitution and with regards to the application of the AORA levy, must:
- Process organic material that would otherwise be considered a waste stream; this may include Food Organics (FO), Garden Organics (GO), Food & Garden Organics (FOGO), forestry organics, agricultural organics, biosolids and digestate.
- Produce beneficial products from the organic material processed including, but not limited to, Compost, Mulches, Soil Conditioners, Digestate and Biochar, in various forms (i.e., bulk, bagged, pelletised, etc.) as well as biogas.
The processing levy is determined by the tonnage processed per annum. This is a cumulative total across all sites within your business.
Tier 1 is < 15 000 tonnesÂ
Tier 2 is >Â 15 001, < 50 000 tonnes
Tier 3 is >50 001, < 100 000 tonnesÂ
Tier 4 is > 100 001, < 250 000 tonnesÂ
Tier 5 is > 250 001 tonnes – 400 000 tonnesÂ
Tier 6 is > 400 001 tonnes.Â

Prices below are indicative of the base price for membership. Membership rates are calculated on a pro-rata basis, starting from the day you submit your membership form until June 30.Â
If you purchase a membership from 1 April onwards, please note you will be charged the pro-rata rate for the remainder of the current financial year + the next full financial year. Â
Processor levies are calculated by the tonnage as per the explanation above and these are also pro-rated. Â
As per the AORA Constitution, all memberships are subject to approval by the AORA Board. Please note, the AORA management team will be in touch with you prior to submitting your membership to the Board if they believe you have signed up in the incorrect category.  Â
In signing up for an AORA membership, you agree to abide by the AORA membership code of conduct.  Â
